Genevieve Tomadong – Clovis Crush Student-Athlete of the Week
This week’s Clovis Crush Student-Athlete of the Week is Genevieve Tomadong from the women’s track & field team!
Although the team has yet to officially compete this spring, Genevieve’s excellence in the classroom has earned her this week’s honor.
Recently, Genevieve was nominated for recognition by a member of the faculty at the college.
“I've been impressed by Cross-Country athlete Genevieve Tomadong's studiousness, active participation, and engagement in class and with course concepts, and her recent essay in my English 3 Honors course.
She arrives prepared as demonstrated by her questions and contributions to class discussions. She steps up as a leader when we have small group activities.
Her first essay was one I selected to read to the class as an excellent example of combining critical thinking and creative thinking. She included her personal experiences with learning from her Cross-Country coaches how to shift from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset. It was inspiring!
And I wanted her coaches to know she appreciates what she's gaining from them. She wrote positively about her coaches, their accomplishments, as well as the team's accomplishments. She is an outstanding ambassador for the sport.”
