Men's Performance at the NorCal Diving Championships
April 15, 2017. The Clovis Community College divers travelled to San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton, CA to take on the best in Northern California in the CCCAA NorCal dive competition. The results from this meet are awarded two-fold, as finishing in the top-8 places earns an automatic qualification for the CCCAA State Meet in Los Angeles (May 4-6) and also counts as the scoring for the Central Valley Conference Championships.
Clovis Men's Swim and Dive Team was represented by freshmen, Andrew St. Germain and Nic Jensen. Jensen finished 11th on the 1m and 10th on the 3m, with the latter event making him the 2nd alternate taken for the CCCAA State meet. St. Germain finished 9th on the 3m and 7th on 1m, so his 1m performance allows him to dive on both boards in Los Angeles, next month. As this meet also counts for the CVC scoring, Jensen was awarded a 4th (3m) and 5th (1m) placing for conference rankings, while St. Germain earned 3rd on both boards in the conference standings.
The Crush Swimmers take on the rest of the Central Valley Conference, beginning this Thursday, April 20, in Merced. Last year, the men's team finished 2nd in the conference standings and the women finished 3rd. The points earned from the diving finishes will be a significant start to improving upon last year's campaigns
Clovis Community College divers will finish their seasons at the CCCAA State Meet at East Los Angeles College, May 4-6, where Berg will contest the 1m and St. Germain will compete in both the 1m and 3m boards.
