Clovis North High School Aquatic Center. The Clovis Community College Swim and Dive teams hosted a dual meet with Merced College on Saturday, May 30. The Crush Women's Swim and Dive team had just come off of a 2nd placed showing at the COS Invitational, while the Men's Swim and Dive team managed to finish 3rd in the same competition.
The Men's team faced a tough task in going toe to toe with this year's favorite to win the Bay Valley Conference title, in the Merced Blue Devils. Eventually, the Crush fell to the Blue Devils by a score of 126-85.
The uphill battle yielded four event wins for Clovis. Returning CCCAA All-American, Dante Ramos, outpaced the field in the 1000y freestyle. Colin Plank touched first in the 500y freestyle. Jaylan Neal outscored his teammate, Joshua Depaz, in both the 1m and 3m springboard diving events. While event wins were at a premium, the Crush took advantage of some good competition, which led to many season bests, thus far.
