Crush continue to show improvement at Cuesta Invitational
SAN LUIS OBISPO – The Clovis Community College Swim and Dive team was back in action over the weekend at the Cuesta Swim & Dive Invitational. The Crush women totaled 165 points to finish tied for 10th place out of 18 teams while the men scored 130 points to also finish 10th out of 12 colleges.
Clovis head coach Shawn Jones said the team performed outstanding with several athletes dropping time.
A standout was Lucas McGary who dropped his time in the 100-meter freestyle (54.62). McGary, a sophomore, is a leader both in the pool and out. Out of the pool, he is actively involved in CCC's student body government serving as the Activities Commissioner Co-Chair. In the pool, he inspired his teammates swimming the 200 fly (2:30.71).
Coach Jones believes Lucas will still drop time in the 200 fly and be very competitive at the championship meet in April.
Up next: The Crush are back in action on Friday, March 15 at a tri-meet hosted by College of the Sequoias in Visalia.
