Crush women third, men 12th to close out season at State Championships
FRESNO – An impressive 2023 Clovis Community College cross country came to a close on Saturday with the Crush women taking third place while the men finished 12th at the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A) State Championships. The event was held at Woodward Park in Fresno.
Both squads improved on last year's team finish as the women were fourth and men 15th at the 2022 state championships.
Led by a sixth-place showing by Rhianon Walker, the Clovis women totaled 150 team points and was the top team from Northern California. Walker ran 18:24.1 to pace the Crush on the 3.1-mile course. She was also the top individual finisher out of the NorCal region.
Walker was followed by Julia Martinez in 14th place with her time of 18:57.5. By finishing among the top-14, the duo earned all-state honors.

Clovis was coming off a first-place finish at the Northern California and Central Valley Conference championships. It was the women's second straight NorCal title and fifth consecutive conference championship.
The Crush men's cross country team totaled 333 points to finish in 12th place. Clovis was led by Joaquin McGee, who took 61st place overall. He ran 21:49.5 on the 4-mile Woodward Park course to pace the Crush.
He was followed by Ethan Pricolo in 64th place (21:52.1) and Marcus Jauregui in 66th (21:57.0).
