The Crush Women's Soccer team cam from behind to beat Hartnell College 2-1 in Salinas, CA on Tuesday, September 12th. After falling behind in the second minute of the match, the Crush responded back in the 10th minute with freshman forward Brianna Garcia's first goal of the season. Freshman defender Nanaki Johal sent a direct free kick cross into the box, and Garcia found herself in the right place at the right time to put back the goalie's punch first time into the goal. Though the Crush created many other good scoring chances from their 14 total shots, with 8 one goal, the go ahead goal didn't come until the 85th minute. Off a counter attack, Crush assist leader Mariah Caitlin added another for her fourth on the year, finding Garcia streaking into the box where she settled and sent her toe poke into the far post corner out of the goalie's reach. The Crush are now 3-4 on the season and next face Santa Barbara City College on Friday, September 15th at 7pm in Santa Barbara.
