Crush Women's Soccer Players Receive Post Season Awards

The Crush finish a banner second season with a total of eight different players receiving awards from the conference, region, and the nation.
The Central Valley Conference awards recognized eight different Crush players with awards, two coming away with major awards. Second Team All Conference recipients were all freshman, midfielder Savannah Dungan, midfielder Esmeralda Navarro, and midfielder Vanessa Torres. First Team All Conference went to one freshman, defender Marie Tejeda, and two sophomores, forward Mariah Caitlin and midfielder Maricela Soto.
Sophomore forward Elisa Soderholm was voted CVC Offensive MVP, while sophomore defender Katrina Thompson was voted CVC Defensive MVP, the first major conference awards won by any Crush women's soccer players.
Katrina Thompson also received two other post season awards. She was recognized by the NorCal Region coaches as a First Team All Region defender. She was also recognized by the United Soccer Coaches Association as a First Team Scholar All American, where she will accept the award at the United Soccer Coaches Association All America luncheon in Philadelphia, PA on January 20, 2018. Both accolades are firsts for any Crush women's soccer player as well.
