Quintero Leads Seven Crush Women on All Conference Team

The Crush Women's Soccer team was recognized by the Central Valley Conference for their banner 2018 season with seven players receiving All Conference selections, highlighted by freshman Ariana Quintero being voted as CVC Most Valuable Player.

Quintero (Edison HS) finished her freshman campaign as the single season leader in program history for points, totaling 53 points on 20 goals and 13 assists. Her goal total ties her for the single season record with Elisa Soderholm ('17) and assists total puts her in second place for the single season record with Mariah Caitlin ('17). Quintero helped lead the Crush to their best offensive year in program history, averaging 4.29 goals per game on 90 goals total for the season. This is the first conference MVP award for the Crush Women's Soccer program.

First Team All Conference selections were sophomores Mia Castillo (Clovis East HS, FPU), Savannah Dungan (Kerman HS), and Esmeralda Navarro (Madera South HS). Castillo finished second in total points and goals scored, finishing with 11 goals and 6 assists for 28 total points. Dungan finished third in total points, with 9 goals and 8 assists for 26 points. Navarro split time in both the outside back and defensive midfield positions, starting all 21 matches and scoring 2 goals while helping the team to six shutouts on the season. Both Dungan and Navarro were Second Team All Conference selections in 2017.

Second Team All Conference selections were freshmen Shady Hernandez (Sunnyside HS), Karlee Hodges (Kingsburg HS), and Jackelyn Segura (Sanger HS). Hernandez finished fourth in total points, scoring 8 goals and adding 8 assists for 24 points total. Hodges started in all 21 matches playing every position across the defensive line, while Segura made her presence known from the center back position. Both showed their consistency and led a defense that finished with a 1.1 goals against average on the season.

Head Coach Orlando Ramirez was also recognized as the Central Valley Conference Coach of the Year. This after the program finished with a 15-3-3 overall record and 0.786 winning percentage, the highest in program history. His overall record over the first three years of the program now stands at 39-13-9. The program has finished second place in conference in all three seasons.

The Crush next take on Taft College on Saturday, November 17, at 2:00pm at Clovis Community College in the first round of the CCCAA NorCal Regional Playoffs. Go Crush!
