Crush earn eight All-Central Valley Conference Women’s Soccer awards
Following the close of another impressive Clovis Community College women's soccer regular season, the Crush were recognized by Central Valley Conference coaches with eight All-CVC postseason awards.
Earning top honors were sophomore Angie Petrakis and sophomore Karyme Hernandez. Petrakis was named the Central Valley Conference Goalkeeper of the Year for the second time while Hernandez was tabbed as the CVC Forward of the Year.
Petrakis posted 11 shutouts this season for the Crush, including a string of six consecutive games without allowing a goal. She compiled a 0.81 goals per game average, allowing 16 goals over 21 contests including just five over 12 conference games.
Hernandez totaled 28 points for Clovis to rank second in the conference, scoring nine goals with 10 assists on the season. She was a first-team All-CVC pick as well in 2019.
Named first-team All-Central Valley Conference were freshman defender Maicee Espinoza, sophomore midfielder Audrey Reyna, and sophomore defender Amanda Avila.
Second-team All-CVC honors went to freshman forward Valeria Quintero, freshman midfielder Jordyne Puentes, and sophomore forward Alexz Wheaton.
Clovis closed out the season with a 14-5-2 overall record under head coach Orlando Ramirez. The Crush finished second in the final Central Valley Conference standings at 10-1-1 and made their fourth consecutive postseason appearance this year, reaching the second round of the Northern California Regional Playoffs.
