CVC champion Crush named No. 2 seed for Northern California Regional Playoffs
NORTHERN CALIFORNIA PLAYOFFS BRACKET
The road to a state championship begins on Saturday for the Clovis Community College women's soccer team. On Tuesday, the Crush were named the No. 2 seed for the upcoming Northern California Regional Playoffs.
Clovis will host the winner of No. 16 Hartnell College and No. 17 Evergreen Valley College in a first-round regional playoff game at home on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 2 p.m. (UPDATE: Hartnell was a 2-0 winner over Evergreen Valley and will travel to Clovis for the first round.)
Ticket prices for the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A) postseason game are $12 for general admission and $8 for all identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children under 12 years old.
Clovis recently wrapped up the regular season by capturing its first-ever Central Valley Conference championship with an impressive 15-1-0 conference record. The Crush enter the postseason with an 18-2-1 overall mark. Under head coach Orlando Ramirez, Clovis is making its sixth straight playoff appearance.
Last season, the Crush advanced to the third round of the Northern California Regional Playoffs. Clovis is looking to qualify for its first state championship tournament.
Hartnell and Evergreen Valley will face off in a Play-in Round game on Thursday (Nov. 16). Hartnell is 8-10-3 overall and took third place in the Coast Conference South Division with a 6-5-1 mark. Evergreen Valley compiled a 9-9-3 record and was second in the Coast Conference North Division at 7-4-1.
The winner of Saturday's contest will take on either No. 7 Santa Rosa Junior College or No. 10 Las Positas College in a second-round game on Tuesday (Nov. 21).
Three wins are needed by the Crush to advance to the 3C2A State Championships on Dec. 1 & 3 at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut.
