Former Crush women’s soccer standout Natalia Guerrero named to 3C2A Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll
Clovis Community College women's soccer players continue to excel on the field and in the classroom. On Wednesday, former Crush standout Natalia Guerrero was named to the 2022-23 3C2A Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll.
Guerrero will be recognized at the Scholar-Athlete Luncheon on March 27 as part of the annual 3C2A Convention held in Sacramento.
The Scholar-Athlete Award is the highest student achievement honor awarded annually by the 3C2A. The winners, along with the rest of the annual honor roll, are selected by the 3C2A Awards Committee from nominations made by community colleges throughout California. Guerrero was one of just 21 student-athletes in the state chosen for this year's honor.
Candidates for the Scholar-Athlete Award must carry a minimum grade point average of 3.5 and must also show outstanding leadership as an athlete, student, or in other college and community activities, as well as have participated in two seasons of sport at a California community college.
Guerrero, originally out of Central East High School in Fresno, compiled a 3.77 grade point average during her final year at Clovis. On the field, she earned first-team All-Central Valley Conference honors as a sophomore during the 2022 season at the defender position. Guerrero helped lead the Crush to a 14-5-5 overall record and a spot in the Northern California Regional Playoffs.
This marks the second consecutive year the soccer program had a student-athlete earn the honor. Former goalkeeper Angie Petrakis was named to the 2021-22 Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll.
