Clovis Crush win 11 of 12 events!
Visalia, CA. The Crush Swim and Dive team won 14 events at the Central Valley Conference Kick-Off Invitational hosted by College of the Sequoias on Friday, February 8. The meet was attended by Fresno City College, Merced College, College of the Sequoias, and Clovis Community College.
Visalia, CA. The Crush Swim and Dive team won 14 events at the Central Valley Conference Kick-Off Invitational hosted by College of the Sequoias on Friday, February 8. The meet was attended by Fresno City College, Merced College, College of the Sequoias, and Clovis Community College.
The Women's team won 11 of the possible 12 events contested to swim to a 1st place team win by outlasting the host team, COS by a score of 618 – 588. Returning Sophomore, Hannah Carbajal led the Crush's winning effort by touching first in 3 individual events. Her three top places came in the 200 individual medley, 50 butterfly, and 100 individual medley. The Crush also boasted 3 other double event winners. Freshmen Dani Denton (50 backstroke and 50 freestyle), Samantha Rockey (50 breaststroke and 100 breaststroke) and Chloe Telian (100 freestyle and 100 butterfly) all contributed two event wins, each. Returning CCCAA scorer, Jade Standing won the women's 1m springboard dive competition. Finally, the Crush ladies swept the relays, taking first in the 200 medley relay (Denton, Helen Harris, Telian, Arianna Hernandez) and the 200 freestyle relay (Telian, Hernandez, Harris, Denton).
The next meet for the Crush Swim and Dive teams will be a home invitational jointly hosted between Fresno City College and Clovis Community College, on February 22 and 23 at the Clovis North High School Aquatic Center.
