Crush run to impressive times at Jack Albiani Invitational
The 2022 spring season continued for the Clovis Community College track and field teams as the men's and women's squads hit the road for the Jack Albiani Invitational at Modesto Junior College.
Top performances for the men included Jared Orth taking second place in the 800 meters with a time of 2:00.02. He was just off his personal-best time of 1:59.71 that was set last week at Cal State Stanislaus.
Abraham Cordova took fourth place in the men's 1500-meters, clocking in at 4:14.74.
Top finishes for the Clovis women included Juliette Colunga's third-place showing in the 400 meters, as she finished with a PR time of 1:01:33.
In the 5000 meters, Jennifer Recinos: was third at 19:44.96, followed by Evelyn Zambrano in fourth with her personal-best 19:56.16.
Other notable performances for the Crush:
- Rebecca Fonbah: Ran 1500m for first time and ran a six-second PR in the 800m (2:46). Two races ago her PR was 3:01, so she's improved 15 seconds over three weeks.
- Ricardo Adame set personal records in the 1500m and 5000m.
- Miguel Marin set big personal records in the 1500m and 800m to add to his PR in the 5000m last week.
- Jas Bhatti extended her personal record streak in the 400m, as she has PR'd in all three races so far this season.
Up next for the Crush, they will compete at the Ocean and Valley Meet at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo on March 25.
