Crush women fourth at Toro Park Invitational/NorCal Preview
The Clovis Community College women's cross country team totaled 130 points to finish in fourth place at the Toro Park Invitational/NorCal Preview meet on Friday. The event was hosted by Hartnell College and was held at Toro Park in Salinas.
Freshman Alyssa Freeman once again captured the Crush's top time, leading the women to fourth out of the nine-team field. She cleared the three-mile course with a time of 19:59.1 to finish 15th overall. Joining her among the competition's top-50 were sophomore Natalie Curtis in 35th place (21:10.1), sophomore Lily Kahn in 37th (21:16.8), sophomore Alyssa Canales in 39th (21:22.0), freshman Toni Payton in 40th (21:24.7), and freshman Clarissa Luna in 44th (21:49.3).

Host Hartnell won the women's team title with a score of 17 points. The Panthers were followed by Santa Rosa Junior College in second with 97 points and Sierra College in third with a score of 104 points. Julia Gonzalez of Diablo Valley College was the individual winner, clocking in at 18:27.3.
Both the Clovis women's and men's squads return to action on Oct. 11 when they will compete at the Butte Invitational in Ororville. The event is the final tune up before the Central Valley Conference Championships on Oct. 29 in Fresno.
