Clovis men finish second at Central Valley Conference Championships
Led by a fourth-place finish by Adrian Cuevas Casarubias and seventh-place showing by Charlie Sawyer, the Clovis Community College men's cross country team took second place at the 2021 Central Valley Conference Championships on Wednesday. The event was held at Woodward Park in Fresno.
The Crush totaled 19 points to finish behind first-place College of the Sequoias with 17 points.
Cuevas Casarubias and Sawyer both earned All-Central Valley Conference honors by finishing among the top-seven. Cuevas Casarubias cleared the four-mile course with a time of 22:21.2 while Sawyer clocked in at 22:41.7.
Sawyer was followed in the top-10 by Abraham Cordova in eighth place (22:46.4) and Cameron Vanzant in ninth (22:59.4).

Up next for the Crush is the Northern California Regional Championship on Nov. 5 at Sierra College in Rocklin. Clovis will be looking to qualify for the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Cross Country State Championship on Nov. 20 at Woodward Park.
