History of the Torch of Excellence
The Kiwanis Torch of Excellence Dinner has been an annual community event since 1997. This event is now a partnership between the Athletic Departments of Clovis Community College, Fresno City College, Madera Community College, Reedley College, State Center Community College District and the Kiwanis Clubs of Fresno – Madera counties.
We extend our thanks to the colleges and administrative units of the State Center Community College District, local businesses, individuals and Kiwanis clubs who have joined us for this evening’s celebration of the academic achievement of our scholar-athletes.
As a community, we are proud to recognize these young women and men who have achieved honors both academically in their educational pursuits and athletically in their individual sports. As they prepare themselves for leadership roles in their communities we hope that they will pursue those roles in partnership with their local Kiwanis organization.
