The Clovis Crush men's soccer team continued its offensive show on Wednesday. Making their 2019 home debut, the Crush cruised to a big 6-0 non-conference victory over visiting Lassen Community College.
Clovis improved to 2-0 overall for the first time in program history and has outscored its two opponents 9-0 after beating Lake Tahoe Community College 3-0 in its season-opener on Aug. 30.
The Crush used a balanced attack on Wednesday as six different players scored in the win.
Ryan Rosas opened the scoring with his goal in the eighth minute off the assist from Saul Allen Sanchez. Gabriel Sosa made it 2-0, scoring in the 14th minute with the assist from Andres Nunez and Alton Yokley. Ivan Garcia sent the Crush into halftime with a commanding 3-0 leading after his 35th-minute goal off the assist from Tyler Ferguson.
Clovis poured it on in the second, getting goals from Jordan Wilkins (Israel Echeverria assist) in the 62nd, Yokley (Wilkins assist) in the 72nd, and Echeverria (Garcia assist) in the 80th minutes.
Mark Davilla and Robby Rosas combined for the shutout, each posting a scoreless half in goal for the Crush.
The Crush will face a big test in their next contest, hosting perennial Southern California playoff qualifier Rio Hondo College of Whittier on Friday (Sep. 6) at 4 p.m.
