Clovis Community College freshman Jordon Wilkins scored two goals and added an assist to help lead the Crush to a big 5-2 win over visiting Cabrillo College on Friday.
Entering the contest, Clovis had won just one out of its last four games. Today's rout closed out the Crush's non-conference schedule and improved their overall record to 6-2-1.
Wilkins came out to play on Friday and immediately put the momentum on the side of Clovis. Just moments after the opening whistle, Wilkins scored the game's first goal a minute into the game to give the Crush the early lead.
Wilkins assisted on the next Clovis goal, feeding Tyler Ferguson in the 19th minute to put the Crush up 2-0. Wilkins's second goal made it 3-0 when he hooked up with Andres Nunez for the second time, giving Clovis a commanding 3-0 advantage 23 minutes into the game.
Cabrillo finally got on the board in the 40th minute with a goal from Maxence Huin. Clovis led 3-1 at halftime and continued to pour it on in the second.
Nunez broke free for a goal in the 58th minute and Carlos Osuna closed out the Crush scoring with his goal in the 70th. Leading 5-1, Cabrillo scored its final goal with 10 minutes to play.
Robby Rosas (75 minutes) and Mark Davilla (15 minutes) combined for the win in goal for Clovis.
The Crush return to action on Tuesday (Oct. 1) at 4 p.m. when they open Central Valley Conference play at rival Fresno City College.
