CLOVIS – A five-game winless steak finally came to an end thanks to a 5-0 Clovis Community College win over visiting West Hills College Lemoore on Tuesday.
The Crush had a tie and three loses over that stretch. With Tuesday's victory, Clovis improved to 6-4-1 overall and 1-3 in Central Valley Conference play.
Five different members of the Crush scored in the win. Clovis led 3-0 at halftime after goals by Lautaro Donoso (11th minute), Julio Moran (14th), and Maurisio Marquez Martinez (45th).
Clovis closed it out with second-half goals by Michaelaaron Ortez (67th) and Cristian Torres Avila (85th).
Peter Vainauskas played solid in goal for the Crush and posted the squad's third shutout of the season.
Clovis returns to action on Friday (Oct. 14) when the Crush travels to Fresno City College for a 4 p.m. Central Valley Conference game.
