Clovis men take second at Hartnell Toro Park Invitational
SALINAS – A solid team effort earned Clovis Community College men's cross country its best finish of the season, a second-place showing at Hartnell College's Toro Park Invitational in Salinas on Friday.
Led by a fourth-place finish by freshman Sebastian McGehee Admas, the Crush totaled 36 points to finish behind host Hartnell with 19 points in the final team standings.
McGehee Admas cleared the four-mile course with his time of 21:04.7 to pace the Clovis men. He was followed closely by freshmen Marcus Jauregui in sixth (21:42.2) and Miguel Marin in seventh place (21:57.0).
Freshmen Dominic Bien and Aron Teffra finished back-to-back in 10th and 11th place. Bien ran 22:18.0 while Teffra finished with 22:30.3.
Also among the top-25 for the Crush were freshmen Jordan Barajas in 17th (23:25.6), Isaiah Tapia in 18th (23:31.0), and Quincy Patton in 21st (23:57.0).
Hartnell's Esteban Deniz was the men's winner, clocking in at 20:42.6
Up next for the Crush in the Central Valley Conference Championships on October 26 at Woodward Park in Fresno.
