Women's Soccer: Midseason Report
The Crush Women's Soccer team takes a seven game winning streak into their conference match against local rival Fresno City College.
At the midway point of the 2018-19 season, the Clovis Crush Women's Soccer team find themselves continuing to show the growth of the program in their short three year existence. With an overall record of 8-1-2 and a 2-0 conference start, the Crush have reached #13 in the United Soccer Coaches National Ranking as of October 2, 2018. This is the highest national ranking in program history. Another program first is their current winning streak of seven matches dating back to September 7, 2018, beating their streak of six wins in a row in 2017-18.
Leading the way for the Crush is freshman Ariana Quintero, who has 14 goals and 7 assists on the season. Her 14 goals and 35 overall points place her third in the state in each category respectively. Also reaching double digits in points so far on the season is sophomore Mia Castillo (7g/2a), sophomore Nataly Sanchez (6g/1a), freshman Brooke Gill (5g/2a), and sophomore Savannah Dungan (3g/5a). Defensively, the Crush have been led by the trio of sophomore Esmeralda Navarro, freshman Jackelyn Segura, and freshman Karlee Hodges. Each of them has started in all eleven matches so far this season. In eleven matches, the Crush have scored 43 goals while giving up 13 against.

The Crush face off today at local rival Fresno City College, kickoff is at 4:00pm. Fresno has an overall record of 7-1-3 and 1-0 in conference, and is currently #2 in the United Soccer Coaches National Ranking.
