Sophomore Angie Petrakis posted three saves in goal to help lead the Clovis Community College women's soccer team to a 3-0 non-conference victory at Los Angeles Pierce College on Friday in Woodland Hills.
Petrakis and the Crush earned their second consecutive shutout and will enter Central Valley Conference play next week with a 3-3-1 overall record.
Clovis made the most of its limited scoring opportunities against the Brahmas. The Crush outshot Pierce by a 5-3 margin, but got goals from Maria Garcia (20th minute), Jordyne Puentes (68th), and Alexz Wheaton (79th) to cruise to the victory. Natalie Guerrero, Karyme Hernandez, and Garcia were all credited with assists.
The Crush, winners of two straight, will host Merced College in their Central Valley Conference opener on Tuesday (Sept. 28) at 2 p.m.
