The No. 16 state-ranked Clovis Community College women's soccer team continued its unbeaten run through Central Valley Conference play on Wednesday by narrowly defeating No. 18 Taft College 1-0 at home.
Because of a postponement earlier in the season, the Crush and Cougars were facing each other for the second time this week. On Monday, Clovis came away with a 2-1 victory at Taft.
Wednesday's win kept Clovis on top of the Central Valley Conference standings at 7-0-1. Fresno City College also remained unbeaten at 6-0-1 while Taft dropped to 4-3. Clovis is unbeaten over its last 10 games and improved to 10-3-2 overall.
Audrey Reyna's goal in the 29th minute ended up being the only one scored in the contest and proved to be the game-winner. Teresa Quintero was credited with the assist.
Goalkeeper Angie Petrakis earned the shutout, the Crush's seventh of the season.
Clovis closes out a busy week with a third game on Friday (Oct. 29). The Crush host West Hills College Lemoore in a 2 p.m. Central Valley Conference game.
