LEMOORE - A pair of goals over the final 10 minutes of the game turned a likely Clovis Community College women's soccer loss to a 3-2 Central Valley Conference win at West Hills College Lemoore on Tuesday.
Trailing 2-1 in the 80th minute, Jordyne Puentes scored to tie up the game. Just seven minutes later and with time winding down, Precious Martinez broke through to score what would be the game-winning goal.
The Crush led early in the game, thanks to a goal in the 14th minute by Teresa Quintero. But West Hills scored in the 35th and 48th minutes to take a 2-1 lead.
Carly Tynan and Ana Reyna split time in goal, both allowing one goal each, to combine for the victory.
With the win, Clovis improved to 4-4-1 overall and 2-1 in conference play. The Crush are back in action on Friday (Oct. 7) when they host Merced College in a 4 p.m. Central Valley Conference game.
