CLOVIS – A pair of goals in the first 10 minutes of the contest would prove to be all the Crush would need as Clovis Community College defeated visiting Taft College by a final score of 2-1 on Tuesday.
The Crush won their fourth straight contest to improve to 6-4-2 overall and 4-1-0 in Central Valley Conference play. Clovis remains tied with Fresno City College atop the CVC standings.
Jordyne Puentes gave Clovis a quick lead with her goal in the seventh minute off the assist from Maria Garcia. Moments later in in the 10th minute, Puentes assisted on Alyssa Ruelas' goal to extend the Crush lead to two goals.
The score stayed 2-0 until late in the contest. Taft avoided the shutout thanks to a goal by Jennifer Vera in the 82nd minute.

Clovis will look to extend its winning streak on Friday (Oct. 14) when the Crush visit Porterville College for a 4 p.m. conference game.
