Crush women close out 2019 with 15th place finish at State Championships
Led by freshman Alyssa Freeman's 45th place finish, the Clovis Crush women's cross country team totaled 344 points to finish in 15th place overall at the 2019 California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Cross Country Championships at Woodward Park in Fresno.
Freeman cleared the 3.1-mile course with a time of 20.08.5 to earn the Crush's lone top-50 finish. She was followed by freshman Toni Payton in 64th place with a time of 20:25.8 and sophomore Natalie Curtis in 69th place at 20:31.3.

Glendale Community College won the women's team title with a score of 66 points, followed by Saddleback College in second (113 points) and Mt. San Antonio College in third (142 points). Sophia Cortina was the women's individual champion, clocking in at 18.27.6.
Under head coach CJ Alberton, the Crush women have reached the state championships in the program's first two years of existence. Clovis also improved on its 17th-place team showing in 2018.
