Walker leads Clovis women to second place, men finish seventh at Crush Invitational
FRESNO – Clovis Community College sophomore Rhiannon Walker continued right where she left off from the spring track and field season.
Walker, the 2024 state champion in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, won her next collegiate race by taking first place at the Crush Invitational on Friday at Woodward Park.
Walker's winning time of 18:39:9 on the 5k course was nearly 45 seconds better than the second-place finisher. She helped lead the Clovis women to a team score of 84, points, good for second place among 15 teams competing at the event.
Freshman Miya Maltos was up next for the Crush, clocking in at 20:19.2 in 16th place. She was followed by freshman Macie Riddle (19th, 20:29.2), freshman Sarah Larger (23rd, 20:47.0), and sophomore Lisbeth Mendez (30th, 20:51.6).

San Diego Mesa College totaled 56 points to finish in first place in the final women's team standings.
CLOVIS CRUSH MEN
Led by a 28th-place individual finish by Ivan Barranco Ranchero, the Clovis Community College men's cross country team totaled 221 points to finish in seventh place at the Crush Invitational on Friday.
Barranco ran a team-best 22:11.9 at the Woodward Park course. Also finishing among the competition's top-50 were Izak Samorano in 41st place at 22:31.2 and Edwin Quiroz-Cisneros in 44th with his time of 22:34.2.
