Walker, Crush women take first; men fifth at Toro Park Invitational
SALINAS – Led by a first-place individual finish by sophomore Rhiannon Walker, the Clovis Community College women's cross country team totaled an impressive score of 51 points to easily win the Hartnell College Toro Park Invitational on Friday morning.
The individual victory for Walker was her second of the season. She appears to be the runner to beat at the upcoming Northern California Regional Championships and 3C2A State Championships meets in November.
Walker easily outdistanced the competition in Salinas, winning the women's race by nearly a minute. She cleared the 3-mile Toro Park course with a time of 18:32.9. Hartnell's Roselyn Olivo was second at 19:26.0.
As a team, all five of the Crush's scoring runners finished among the top-20. Walker was followed by Miya Maltos in 14th place with her time of 20:36.8. Up next for the Crush were Alyona Beams in 16th at 20:41.7, Maria Garcia in 18th with a time of 20:46.4, and Genevieve Tamondong in 19th at 20:50.3.

CLOVIS MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
Led by a 15th-place finish by Ivan Barranco, the Clovis men's cross country team scored 134 points to finish in fifth place out of 13 teams at the Hartnell College Toro Park Invitational on Friday.
Barranco cleared the 4-mile course with a time of 21:48.6. He was followed by Joaquin McGee in 17th at 21:53.4. Also scoring for Clovis was Adrian Estevez Ramirez in 33rd at 22:20.9, Edwin Quiroz-Cisneros in 38th with 22:30.4, and Izak Samorano in 39th with a time of 22:33.2.

American River College won the men's team competition with a final score of 79 points. Stephan Chapdelaine of Butte College was the individual winner with a time of 20:32.6
Up next for the Crush cross country teams is the Butte Invitational next Friday (Oct. 11) at the Butte College campus in Oroville.
