Crush coach CJ Albertson is top American finisher at Chicago Marathon

CHICAGO – Clovis Community College cross country and track & field head coach CJ Albertson put together another outstanding effort on the international running scene. At the 2024 Chicago Marathon held on Sunday, Albertson ended as top American finisher by taking seventh place overall with a new personal best time of 2:08.17.

"In June I decided to commit to both the Chicago & NYC marathons which are 3 weeks apart," said Albertson on his Instagram account. "This is uncommon among professional athletes, but made sense for me. I felt that by 'doing me' I'd get more out of myself. The job isn't done, but so far my training has improved and I pr'd by 1:36 to run 2:08:17 & finish 7th at the Chicago Marathon. Now onto NYC!"

The New York Marathon is set for Nov. 3 in New York City.
